Bridge inspection reports had revealed significant structural wear, including evidence of corroded steel reinforcement–raising long-term concerns about durability, safety, and maintenance.<\/p>\n
To address these issues, the project team removed the existing structure and installed a new fiberglass rebar-reinforced concrete (GFRP-RC) flat-slab bridge using Mateenbar60<\/a>\u2122 \u00a0along with a corrosion-resistant seawall-bulkhead system.<\/p>\nThis included the use of fiberglass rebar master piles and GFRP-RC precast panels\u2014an innovative approach that offered a long-term, corrosion-free alternative to conventional steel reinforcement.<\/p>\n
