Is Greenbar2X® Fiberglass Rebar Made in USA?
Greenbar2X® fiberglass rebar is proudly manufactured in the USA at our production facility in North Carolina. This ensures compliance with key domestic sourcing requirements such as Buy America and BABA (Build America, Buy America). Manufacturing locally allows us to provide faster response times, stronger quality assurance, and a product customers can trust to perform on every job—avoiding the potential risks associated with offshore manufacturing. By producing in the USA, we proudly support American jobs and infrastructure projects, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the domestic economy.
How Is Greenbar2X® Packaged?
Greenbar2X® is manufactured and shipped in the USA. Master bundles are available in standard sizes. Stock bent bars are available on request. For more info on packaging, see the Greenbar2X® Product & Technical Information Sheet.
What Is Greenbar2X® Used For?
Greenbar2X® is typically used for slab-on-grade applications, including foundations, driveways, pool decks, patios, walkways, basement floors, and various gardening or landscaping structures.
Is Greenbar2X® Approved by the Building Codes?
Greenbar2X® complies with key building codes and standards established by leading industry institutions such as ASTM, ACI, and ICC. These standards and evaluations ensure Greenbar2X® meets the stringent requirements for safety, performance, and reliability in residential and commercial construction. While specific building codes can vary by jurisdiction, Greenbar2X’s® compliance with these widely recognized standards simplifies the approval process for use in many projects. For detailed information, consult your local building authority.
Is Greenbar2X® Suitable for Structural Applications?
Greenbar2X® is an ACI / ASTM D7957-compliant structural rebar primarily designed for horizontal flatwork applications, such as driveways, foundations, patios, and pool decks. Although ideal for residential and light commercial projects, it’s suitable for structural projects when ASTM D7957 is called out or if the design is according to ACI 440.11 using those properties. While it offers high tensile strength, corrosion resistance, and maintenance-free performance, its use in vertical structural applications is limited to heights of 10 feet or less, as specified by ICC-EER 5548. For larger-scale or more demanding structural applications, including tall vertical structures and infrastructure projects, Mateenbar60™ is the better option.
How Much Does Greenbar2X® Weigh?
A standard #4 bar of Greenbar2X® weighs about 3.6 lbs for a 20ft length. For context, the comparative #4 bar of steel (20ft length) weighs about 13.3 lbs. Greenbar2X’s® lightweight design simplifies transport and handling, reducing labor and boosting productivity on job sites.
